Wishing you a lovely Family Day long weekend. I hope you find something to do with each other that brings you joy.
Learning Intention: I can demonstrate how personal well-being is supported through positive relationships built on communication, collaboration, empathy and respect.
With our Puppetry Residency, we have been learning to make puppets and about emotions, friendships, disagreements and how to problem-solve. We have been using the text The Color Monster to help us discover and name different emotions. We worked with Grade 2 friends to read different scenarios and sort them based on the emotion that would be felt. During Puppetry, we use the book: The Owl and The Woodpecker to teach us about disagreements, how others may feel and how to problem-solve. Using both texts, we have been role-playing in front of our peers to get us ready for our Parent Presentation on Feb 28.
As a class, we learned about emotions and regulating our bodies with a presentation by our Occupational Therapist. She helped us build a Calm Corner and taught us how to use it. Ask your child to tell you about our Calm Corner and when they might want/need to use it.
